Tires in Bedford, Ohio
Tires are the only part of the vehicle touching the road, which is a good thing to remember in a Bedford February.
Mounting, Balancing, TPMS and Straight Answers on Wear
Tires are the only part of the vehicle touching the road, and the wear pattern on them is a readable record of what everything above them is doing. We look at that pattern before we sell you anything.
We fit them, balance them, rotate them, repair them where they can be safely repaired, and tell you when they cannot.

What we do
- Mounting and computer balancing
- Rotation, usually at oil change intervals
- Puncture repair where the damage is in the repairable tread area
- TPMS sensor service and relearn
- Tread depth and wear pattern inspection
- Age checking, the date code matters as much as the tread
What the wear pattern tells us
Wear on both outer edges is underinflation. Wear down the middle is overinflation. Wear on one edge only is a camber problem. Feathering or a sawtooth edge is usually toe, and that means alignment.
This is why we look at the wear rather than just the depth. Fitting a new set without correcting what wore out the old set is a way to buy tires twice.
On tire age
Rubber hardens with time whether the vehicle is driven or not. A set with plenty of tread that has been on the vehicle a decade is not the same as a set with plenty of tread and three years on it, particularly in cold weather, where hardened rubber gives up grip well before it looks worn. We check the date codes.
Winter, honestly
All-season tires are a compromise, and they are a reasonable one for most people here. If you drive through everything the winter puts down and want a genuine improvement, dedicated winter tires do more for stopping distance than all-wheel drive does. Not everyone needs them. It depends on the driving you do.

Tires. Common Questions
If the puncture is in the tread area and within repairable limits, usually yes. Sidewall damage cannot be repaired safely, and we will not patch one that should not be patched.
Most vehicles do well with rotation at oil change intervals. Check what your handbook specifies, it varies with drivetrain.
On all-wheel drive, usually yes, mismatched circumferences put strain on the driveline. On two-wheel drive you have more flexibility, though replacing in pairs across an axle is sensible.
Tread depth is the legal measure, but uneven wear, cracking in the sidewall and age matter too. A tire with plenty of tread can still be past its useful life.
Wear on both edges usually means underinflation, wear down the center means overinflation, and wear on one edge or a feathered pattern usually points at alignment or a worn suspension component.
Most manufacturers specify an interval, commonly around every other oil change. Rotating on schedule is the cheapest way to get the full life out of a set.
It depends where it is. Punctures in the tread area within a certain size can usually be repaired properly from the inside. Sidewall damage cannot be repaired safely.
Cold weather drops pressure enough to trigger it, so it often appears on the first cold morning. It can also mean a failed sensor, which we can read and confirm.
On all wheel drive vehicles usually yes, since mismatched rolling diameters can damage the driveline. On two wheel drive it is often fine to do a pair, fitted to the rear.
